Recorder

Bob Nolte - Boone County Recorder of Deeds

The citizens of Boone County deserve to have a passionate, experienced administrator as Recorder of Deeds – someone who has demonstrated a commitment to hard work, public service, and our community’s values. Since being first elected in 2022, I have worked diligently to provide great customer service for everyone, ensure secure access to county records, and make critical updates to our technology.

Under my leadership, the Recorder’s office has prioritized a commitment to efficiency, education, and providing high quality service to the public. With a newly streamlined online search system, residents now have easy and secure access to documents held on file with the Recorder. The office has also helped thousands of people obtain copies of their marriage license to meet the new Real ID requirements. At the state level, I have advocated for legislation to better protect homeowners from property fraud. I am also an active member of the Recorders’ Association of Missouri, serving on the legislative committee and as chair of the 2025 annual conference. Before my time in office, I built a career as a professional administrator, with nearly a decade working at Mizzou Athletics, most recently as Director of Compliance. I also served six years as treasurer for the City of Columbia New Century Fund and volunteer with various local organizations and causes.

The Recorder’s primary responsibility is to ensure their office is protecting the interests of Boone Countians. The public trusts the Recorder’s office to record, index, and preserve real estate and land transactions, as well as marriage licenses and U.S. military discharge documents. These documents must be accurate and they must be secure. Citizens, businesses, and other government offices who interact with the Recorder’s office expect consistency and efficiency, and all of us want our tax dollars used wisely by county government operations. Whether you're celebrating a personal milestone like getting married or purchasing a new home, working with the Recorder as part of business operations, or doing research with historical records, you deserve great service. It’s essential that the office perform its core functions to the highest standard.

It has been an honor to serve as the Boone County Recorder of Deeds and I humbly ask for your vote on November 3rd.
